Perry Mitigation Bank Site

This 186-acre parcel of land was on the market for several years and was deemed too soggy to farm. The project has resulted in 93 acres of wetland mitigation bank credits to meet mitigation needs for most southern Michigan road projects in the ecoregion and watershed. Another 35 acres of wetland mitigation credits are available for statewide road agency projects with less than 0.33 acres per wetland complex of impacts as well as required mitigation for Federal no net loss wetland impacts.

The site is being managed by Niswander Environmental, one of the state’s leaders in private wetland banks for the last decade. Mitigation credits have been available since 2020 and requests will be reviewed by a steering committee of members from the CRA Seven County Council, with authority granted to the MiWB manager for approvals.
